Bethel Baptist Church was founded in 1999 for the sole purpose of spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ and His goodness to the people of Jefferson County and beyond. We are an independent church relying on God's provision and the support of our members. Our mission is to help each person have a close relationship with God and a greater understanding of His Word.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Is there a dress code?
You will find people in suits and ties or dresses, and some may be in their work clothes. Our church has no formal dress code. We want you to feel welcome while you're here.
Do you have ministries for children and teens?
Childcare is provided for newborn children through age 3. Bible classes and a Junior Church meet every Sunday morning for children ages K-6th grade.
Teenagers will enjoy their own dedicated minstry with classes and monhtly events designed just for them.
What is your worship style during the service?
We sing a mix of traditional hymns and some newer songs. While the basic description of our worship style would be considered "traditional," it is by no means boring. We love to sing enthusistically about the greatness of God.
OUR BELIEFS
The Bible
At Bethel Baptist Church, we use the King James Version of the Bible. We believe it to be an inerrant, preserved translation of the Bible for English-speaking peoples.
Who is God?
We hold to the truth that God exists as a Trinity - Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Each are an equal part of this union.
Jesus Christ is the Son of God, Who took on a human form that He may die for the sins of the world. He is Creator and King of Kings over this world.
The Holy Spirit serves as a guide, comforter, and preserver to those who have believed in Jesus Christ for salvation.
The Church
We are an Independent Baptist Church that is conservative in our world-view and stance. We are not affiliated with nor governed by any outside authority. The Word of God is our final authority in all matters of the church.
Salvation
We believe there is only one way of salvation - by faith and acceptance of Jesus Christ. (John 3:16, Romans 10:9)
Salvation is the gift of God to us and cannot be earned by good works. (Ephesians 2:8-9, Titus 3:5)
Salvation is an eternal and complete work at the point of realization of sin, and profession of faith in Christ to forgive the sin.
At salvation, the believer becomes a child of God and therefore a part of God’s eternal family. (John 1:12). This is confirmed by the Holy Spirit. (Romans 8:14-17) Salvation is referred to in Scripture on multiple occasions as both eternal and everlasting life.
